Adunarea generală a Ligii Profesioniste Belgiene a votat în unanimitate unirea cu Eredivisie - primul divizie al campionatului Țărilor de Jos.Astfel, toate cele 25 de cluburi profesioniste din Belgia, sunt pentru crearea noii competiții, a cărei denumire va fi BeNeLeague.Contractele cu deținătorii de drepturi TV din cele două campionate vor expira în 2025, iar oficialii își doresc ca noua ligă să debuteze chiar de atunci.Despre formatul competiției se discută de mai mult timp, însă deja se cunoaște că aceasta va include 8 cluburi din Belgia și 10 din Eredivisie.
